Inner Worlds/Outer Worlds

Inner Worlds was created by Canadian film maker, musician and meditation teacher Daniel Schmidt. The film could be described as the external reflection of his own adventures in meditation.

Akasha is the unmanifested, the “nothing” or emptiness which fills the vacuum of space. As Einstein realized, empty space is not really empty. Saints, sages and yogis who have looked within themselves have also realized that within the emptiness is unfathomable power, a web of information or energy which connects all things.

The Spiral. The Pythagorean philosopher Plato hinted enigmatically that there was a golden key that unified all of the mysteries of the universe. The golden key is the intelligence of the logos, the source of the primordial om. One could say that it is the mind of God. The source of this divine symmetry is the greatest mystery of our existence.

The Serpent and the Lotus. The spiral has often been represented by the snake, the downward current, while the bird or blooming lotus flower has represented the upward current or transcendence. The ancient traditions taught that a human being can become a bridge extending from the outer to the inner, from gross to subtle, from the lower chakras to the higher chakras.

Beyond Thinking. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We live our lives pursuing happiness “out there” as if it is a commodity. We have become slaves to our own desires and craving. Happiness isn’t something that can be pursued or purchased like a cheap suit.

CLIMATE DESTABILIZATION: OUR LONG SLOW EMERGENCY

VIDEO & DISCUSSION NIGHT ~ 2 nd Sunday of each month
PRACTICES AND ACTIONS TO CREATE RESILIENCE ~ 4 th Sunday of each month, 6:30-8:00pm

On the 2 nd Sunday of each month, 6:30-8:30pm, we show a different climate video and discuss a range of important issues and options to address them, both individually and collectively.

Our perspective is that the core ecological problem is not climate change, but rather it is overshoot, of which our climate destabilization is a symptom. We have overshot the ability, i.e.,“carrying capacity”, of the earth to support the population by using up resources faster than they can be replenished. In the process we’ve put an amount of CO2 into the atmosphere that has destabilized our climate.

“There can be no greater crime against humanity than the destruction of conditions that make human life possible…” Lawrence Torcello
We are in an unprecedented time of risk, uncertainty, and opportunity … and with some urgency we are called to greater participation to serve our Emerging Future.

Join us for this important discussion of how we move forward to create an Earth Community of justice, sustainability and peace! Bring your comments, questions and ideas. Free! Open to all!

For detailed information of the specific video that will be shown, see

Sounding to Health with Rod Echols

Sound and Vibrational healing is an ancient technology that has slowly been rediscovered. In these times of bombarding frequencies from cell phones, cell towers, computers and on and on…We all need to recharge our bodies with intentional frequencies that are meant to relax our minds and calm our bodies. And most of all activate our spirits.

Rod Echols is a Certified Sound Therapist who witnessed Sound Baths before that term was a term. Having worked as a roadie for the World Renowned Art Ensemble of Chicago and being involved in various healing modalities for over 20 years, Rod will bring his assortment of healing instruments to assist you in bathing in frequencies and sound designed to balance out your mind, body, and spirit.

This Sound Meditation is designed to feed off of the intentions and needs of the audience. The level of participation from the audience is not necessary, but Rod loves to involve the participants so that the intention of the resulting soundscape is personal to each and every individual in the room. So come out, take part, lay back and take in the sounds and frequencies of manifesting your personal desires.

Seeing Archetypes: A Jungian view of the Tarot
A conversation with Kenneth Turner

PhD (Board Secretary for the Jung Society of the Triangle) http://jungnc.org/
Carl Jung, arguably the most important psychologist of the last century, was first a younger colleague, later a rival of Sigmund Freud. In contrast to Freud’s materialistic model of our human nature, which sought to increase happiness by adjusting us to the demands of society, Jung had a more expanded view of humanity. He sought, not adjustment, but what he termed Individuation, the process of becoming who we were meant to be. He discovered, beyond the personal unconscious that Freud had worked with, a more extensive realm he called the Collective Unconscious – psychic contents and processes common to everybody, everywhere. In this inner space, he found all the myths and ideas of the world. Among the inhabitants of this space are what Jung called the ‘Archetypes’ – inner representations of the common experiences that define our humanity – such things as Mother, Father, Friend, Lover, Warrior, and innumerable others.

We will look at the major arcana of the Tarot deck as examples of archetypal images, and show how they may be seen as a map of the process of individuation. Because archetypes are by definition, dynamic patterns in the unconscious, they can never be fully defined, but only experienced with variable intensity and consciousness. The particular arrangement of these symbols, though not the Jungian interpretation, is due to Paul Foster Case. The speaker has studied this material for many years, and has found it very helpful in organizing and understanding his own inner life.

Kenneth Turner brings a variety of life experience to his work with people. He earned a PhD in Physics (Princeton, 1962), an MA in Humanistic and Transpersonal Psychology (University of West Georgia, 2007), and passed the National Counselors Licensing exam. He has been an astronomer, an administrator, a federal bureaucrat, an executive at a high tech start-up company, a college professor, an entrepreneur, and a psychotherapist. He has married, helped raise children (his own and others), lived abroad, been widowed twice, and retired. Kenneth holds certifications in the Body Centered Transformation work of Gay and Katlyn Hendricks, and in the Enneagram approach of Kathy Hurley and Theodorre Donson. He is an authorized facilitator for the Institute of Noetic Sciences Conscious Aging program and has been involved with Jungian psychology for more than fifty years.

A six-part series of a general introduction, explaining the basic Jungian model followed by a look at the complexes, using the Enneagram of personality as a useful tool, then two talks on the Archetypes, one on the intellectual Archetypes, represented by Numbers and geometric shapes, and another on the Tarot as representing the more emotional and experiential Archetypes.

Mystic Grove Oils
Essential Oils Workshops with Irina Teixeira

Essential oils are natural compounds that are found in plants. They give plants, flowers and fruits their aromatic smell and have been used for a very wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications for thousands of years. If you have ever enjoyed the scent of a rose, you’ve experienced the aromatic qualities of essential oils. These naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds are found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. Essential oils provide plants with protection against environmental threats and play a role in plant pollination. In addition to their intrinsic benefits to plants and being beautifully fragrant to people, essential oils can be used for food preparation, beauty treatment, and health-care practices.

Essential oils are both exciting and promising when it comes to taking care of your own and your family’s health. Whether you’re applying essential oils topically, enjoying the aromatic benefits through diffusing, or taking essential oils internally, the positive effects of essential oils are boundless. Essential oils are a natural way to accomplish a healthy lifestyle because they work on the mind, body and spirit. Come and learn how use essential oils to unleash the potential of these natural remedies, take control of your health and lower your pharmacy bills.

I am a doTerra Health and Wellness Advocate. My role in the community is to teach workshops on empowering people to make healthy and natural decisions with respect to their health care choices. Accessing Personal Power Through Forgiveness with Kenneth Anderson

My name is Kenneth Anderson and I am proposing an evening discussion entitled “Accessing Personal Power Through Forgiveness”. The outline for this discussion will start with a brief overview of my own personal journey leading up to the present mapping my own exploration and experimentation in facilitating a rapid resolution to deep seated issues and an empowerment of repressed healthy patterns of development.

The second phase of this discussion will focus on the three levels of forgiveness that can be used on a daily basis. These range from a broad based generalized type of forgiveness to types of forgiveness techniques that are more targeted toward specific trauma and the reclaiming of inhibited and repressed healthy patterns of growth and development.

My background qualifications for this topic are that I have been on a path of conscious living and expression for over forty-five years. I am experienced in the functional application of Depth Psychology, Transactional Analysis, 12 Step work, and have adhered to a pattern of growth and development that is insight and awareness based.
I have a musical website that can be used, it is; http://www.reverbnation.com/adamanderson6.
I will send you a picture a little later on for your post of this event.

ONE TRACK HEART: THE STORY OF KRISHNA DAS follows his journey to India and back, witnessing his struggles with depression and drug abuse, to his eventual emergence as Krishna Das, world-renowned spiritual teacher and Grammy nominated chant master.

Featuring interviews with Ram Dass (LSD Icon Richard Alpert), Rick Rubin (Grammy Award winning Producer), Sharon Salzberg (NY Times bestselling author), Daniel Goleman (two-time Pulitzer Prize nominee), and many others.

Veronica DaVanzo LIVE! FREE!
Also! Hank & Brendan!

Veronica DaVanzo is a Chapel Hill-based rock musician. Her unique and intense brand of rock combines elements of classic rock ‘n’ roll, electronic beats, traditional instrumentation, experimentalism, and classical music. She cites diverse influences ranging from classical composers like Beethoven to modern metal bands like Epica. Her album, Solo of a Caged Bird, is set to release in the summer of 2018.

Since launching a social media presence in 2014, Veronica’s most notable achievements have been over 70 live performances, her first original release, “Fly” – Single (2017), and her current project, an original album entitled Solo of a Caged Bird, to be released summer of 2018. Veronica debuted her first original works at a Greensboro concert in June 2016 and released a demo EP featuring the song that would become her first commercial release. During 2017, she played countless open mics at venues around the Triangle while she wrote material for her album. Alongside her own projects, Veronica is acting as producer for several projects, including a single for the death metal band Wings of Steel and a classical piano compilation, My Passion (2017), by her father.

“A few things are and always will be extremely important to me in my music career: roots, experimentation, and authenticity. I strive to create music that acknowledges where I came from, but that is not afraid to take risks and be something completely novel,” says Veronica of her compositional style. “Music is my way of taking a deep breath and moving on; I can only hope that, in some small way, my songs connect me to my listeners and enable them to do the same.”
